Pastor’s Letter to the Church

Good Morning,

We had another wonderful weekend serving the Lord together this past week. It was a blessing to have Bro and Mrs. Fields come forward to join the church. It was also a great joy to see the two young people trust Jesus Christ as their Saviour at the invitation of the morning service.

We had 154 in Sunday School this past week. Our goal is at some point in the campaign to surpass 200 in total attendance. Be sure to invite your friends to come with you to Sunday School. Be thinking about who you could invite.

This morning I would like to share a passage with you from the Book of Isaiah. “Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shalt thou plant pleasant plants, and shalt set it with strange slips: In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.” (Isaiah 17:10-11) Two things that we see at the beginning of this verse is that the nation of Israel had forgotten the God of their salvation and that they were not mindful of the rock of their strength. I hope this does not become a description of the Lincoln Baptist Church and her members. May we keep before us the memory of our salvation and the God who saved us through the precious blood of Jesus. Secondly, let us be ever mindful of our God, keeping Him in our mind, for without Him we can do nothing. He is the source of our strength. Take time this week to think about God, who He is, and what He has done.
