THIS WEEK'S MEMORY VERSE IS...

"And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD." (Joshua 24:21)

Join us this Wednesday as we study...

"Because of You"

"And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God is he that hath fought for you." (Joshua 23:3)

How great is the Lord our God? Joshua is here reminding the nation of Israel just what God had done for them. He reminded them of what God had done to the nations "because of you". What three beautiful words these are, because of you. They ascribe the object of God's intent of the blessings He doth bestow.

Take a moment to remember all God has done because of you. We do not deserve the blessings of God yet through His grace he personalizes them to each of us. Therefore when Christ stood and was falsely accused in Pilate's court it was because of you. When He suffered the stroke of the cat o' nine tails it was because of you. When they pounded the crown of thorns into His head it was because of you. When he stumbled beneath the cross it was because of you. When He stretched forth His hands to receive the nails it was because of you. When He was lifted up on the cross, He became a sin for us because of you. He was lain in the grave, but rose up again because of you! You and I were the object of His affection as He put forth His action of love. Praise God he did all this, "Because of you."

This thought is not very long, but I don't think it needs to be. We should thank God for all He has done, because of us.
